I recently read a quote in a magazine which went something like this,

“You are not afraid that you will never become the king of the universe. But you are afraid that you will not become successful like your brother.”

It got me thinking about one of the essential qualities for an entrepreneur – Being Fearless!

Entrepreneurs are those who decide to say “good bye” to a dull life. A person who leads a dull life will not have much to fear. He has nothing much to lose, nothing much to decide. He is not taking many risks. But an entrepreneur who is doing many things and making many decisions will experience fear.

Every entrepreneurial venture deals with the unknown. When you start out on a venture, you are dealing with things that are mere possibilities, things that are not definite or known. It is natural to have self-contradicting thoughts and differing road-maps to pursue. And as long as there is the possibility of losing something, it is natural to feel fear. That is the nature of life itself.

Fearlessness therefore does not mean non-existence of fear. It means the fear is there, but you have tremendous energy or courage to live with it and face it. Fearlessness means having the courage to live even with the maximum fear and going beyond it.

Every time you face fear, do not disrespect yourself.  Do not lose confidence or condemn yourself.  For an entrepreneur, each day will (and should) present new challenges and new opportunities.  Cherish these moments and give it all you have.  Remember, in business and in life, there are no ordinary moments!

There are two kinds of Entrepreneurs
Type 1- Entrepreneurs with passion and/or good for others
Type 2- Entrepreneurs with greed (i.e. of a gambler mind frame)
(Reason is important than the path – one choose an eventful or uneventful life/path)
Right reasoning can eradicate fear and self contradicting thoughts.
